Ellijay Telephone Co. of Georgia has licensed Equinox Information Systems' Collector tool for retrieving call/usage data records from their Lucent 5ESS switch.
Equinox's Collector product is a mediation tool that establishes connectivity with one or more switches and collects call records as they are created. Once it collects CDR files, it moves them to a designated network device or location. From there, service providers can use CDRs in the process of fraud detection, billing, traffic analysis, CABS reconciliation, and many other functions.
"ETC serves the communities in which we live. ETC employees are involved in many local civic, church, and school activities," said Casey Loudermilk, network specialist with Ellijay Telephone. "Equinox provided us with the same excellent support throughout the sales and installation process that we strive to give our own customers."
The Collector solution has been in production for more than 20 years and interfaces with multiple switch types using standard protocols (such as X.25 and TCP/IP). Collector provides data verification, real-time monitoring, and auditing of the files it collects. Collector functions in a standalone manner but is also designed to work in concert with both the TeleLink and Protector products offered by Equinox.
