Cricket Communications has chosen Belfast-based Aepona for its Network as a Service (NaaS) solution.

Aepona says Cricket will use the solution to attract application developers and content providers, enabling the creation of a wide variety of exciting, differentiated applications and services. It's expected to help Cricket to use its network, billing and informational assets in new and innovative ways. The NaaS solution is based on Aepona’s API Monetization Platform (AMP), deployed as a hosted, fully managed service.

Aepona will also support Cricket in developer marketing, recruitment and onboarding via its Application Ecosystem Program, which is aimed at helping Aepona’s service-provider customers reach out to the developer community to better understand their needs and to market the benefits of adding mobile network capabilities to their apps.

“We are very excited to be extending our existing relationship with Cricket towards a fully-fledged NaaS solution, helping them utilize their core network assets and open up new channels to market through partnerships," said Kevin Wagner, Aepona’s SVP & GM, Americas sales. "We look forward to closely working with Cricket in making their NaaS offering a success."
