An unnamed European operator has deployed Comptel Corp.'s Control and Charge to provide its subscribers with what is supposed to be greater control and transparency into their service plans. The deal, which was completed in 2011, enables the operator to quell subscriber concerns of exceeding data usage by providing real-time balance inquiries and alerts, Comptel said.
Comptel Control and Charge is designed to provide subscribers with flexible options for keeping track of their data consumption. Subscribers can monitor usage by receiving an SMS when defined data thresholds are met, view their usage via a branded portal or iPhone app and find their balance at any time. Comptel says the solution empowers the operator’s subscribers with insight into how much they are spending. As a result, bill shock – especially pervasive among postpaid customers – is greatly reduced; encouraging subscribers to more readily take advantage of broadband services. Greater control and transparency into their data spending also yields an enhanced customer experience, which in turn, leads to increased overall satisfaction, the company said.
“We are proud that our solution for real-time cost control has once again been selected by one of our long-time customers," said Mr. Antti Koskela, senior vice president, products and solutions, Comptel. “Comptel Control and Charge will allow the operator to enhance its customers’ experiences, helping them to use data services more comfortably."
This operator has previously deployed Comptel Convergent Mediation and Comptel Provisioning and Activation.
