Two of Taiwan's top three tier-1 mobile operators deployed Aptilo's Wi-Fi service to offload their 3G networks, the company announced today.
Aptilo Networks, a provider of mobile data offloading solutions, allows mobile operators to deploy reliable wireless services quickly and with minimal impact on existing systems. It utilizes the Aptilo Service Management Platform, which enables carrier-class and secure Wi-Fi services that are easy to manage.
Both Taiwan operators are deploying Wi-Fi in public areas where data consumption through their 3G networks is in strong demand. The Wi-Fi will complement their existing 3G services so users can enjoy a complete wireless experience, including the fast data speeds and convenience of Wi-Fi.
With Aptilo, mobile operators can deliver advanced services for additional revenue, monitor usage, and ensure superior user experience. They can also leverage the prepaid billing, policy, accounting and authentication services available through Aptilo’s Wi-Fi platform.
Torbjorn Ward, CEO of Aptilo Networks, said the company noted a record growth of 70 percent in it's last annual report.
"There is great opportunity for mobile operators to monetize the bandwidth capacity crunch," Ward said. "Aptilo’s platform delivers a carrier-class solution that gives mobile operators a competitive edge."
