Equinix Hires New Chief Marketing Officer

Equinix's Sara BaackGlobal interconnection platform provider Equinix appointed Sara Baack as the company's new chief marketing officer.

Baack will take responsibility for the company's brand, products and service portfolio, industry analysis, communications, and vertical market development.

Before joining Equinix, Baack worked as senior vice president of voice services for Level 3 Communications. She headed a $1 billion business unit and took on responsibilities for strategy, product management, pricing and commercial support, interconnection and regulatory policy, vendor management, network planning and routing.

During her 13 years with the company, Baack also held positions as senior vice president of wholesale markets, vice president for colocation services, director of corporate strategy, and she supported due diligence and integration for a number of acquisitions by Level 3.

Earlier in her career, Baack worked as a financial analyst in investment banking for PaineWebber Inc., eventually becoming vice president of principal transactions.

Baack received her bachelor's degree  in history and managerial studies from Rice University and her master's degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
