T-Mobile will integrate AIRCOM International's ASSET network planning solution across its LTE network in 2013.
As a long-standing AIRCOM customer, T-Mobile will extend the capabilities of ASSET in GSM and UMTS network planning to span existing 4G and future LTE network deployments.
AIRCOM’s ASSET tool currently forms T-Mobile’s database of record for all its cell sites nationwide. ASSET also integrates a range of different systems, including its own backhaul network tool CONNECT, to predict network coverage requirements for the network operator. These extensive radio network planning capabilities will be extended to include T-Mobile’s future LTE network.
Mark McDiarmid, vice president of radio network engineering and development with T-Mobile, said, “The seamless integration of ASSET with our existing software and systems will ensure the benefits we enjoy across our GSM and UMTS networks can be easily applied to our LTE infrastructure."
“As a long-term and highly valued AIRCOM customer, T-Mobile USA has enjoyed the significant benefits our ASSET solution delivers across multiple network technologies," said AIRCOM CEO Alwyn Welch. “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to extend these capabilities to T-Mobile’s LTE network and play a central role in delivering optimal mobile services to its customers across the USA."
