Acme Packet has unveiled the Net-Net 6300, a session delivery platform designed to assure services for the world's largest and most advanced interactive IP communications networks.
The Net-Net 6300 leverages Acme Packet's Net-Net OS software and hardware in a tightly integrated system to deliver throughput, performance, and capacity in a 3U form factor. This software can also lower service provider capital and operational costs, and it can potentially reduce the number of managed session border controller (SBC) elements in the network by up to 75 percent, the company said.
"We designed the Net-Net 6300 to meet the demands of next generation services, which will be based on end-to-end IP rather than a TDM-based communications infrastructure," said Pat MeLampy, Acme Packet's chief technology officer. "By combining the latest advances in microprocessors and software with the familiar operations model of our proven systems, we've delivered a platform that will help our customers make a smooth transition towards the future."
