Subex Names New CEO

India-based BSS provider Subex has appointed Surjeet Singh its new managing director and CEO, effective immediately.

Singh has more than 20 years of multi-industry global experience in finance, corporate development, business planning and global operations. Subex says he is well known for building organizations and fostering collaboration in large and culturally diverse cross-functional teams.

Singh's last job was president of international business for Glodyne DecisionOne; before that, he was CFO for Patni Computer Systems, where he played a key role in shaping business transformation and maintaining high standards of governance, Subex said. Singh was also part of the founding team of Cymbal Corp., a midsize telecom BSS systems integration boutique company out of Silicon Valley, which was acquired by Patni in 2004.

“I am excited at the opportunity to serve a leadership company which is one of the largest IP led services businesses out of India," Singh said. "Subex has been at [the] forefront of innovation from its inception. I look forward to working with closely with all Subexians, its customers and investors to charter its new growth phase and maximize value for all stakeholders."

In its most recent quarterly financial results, former Subex CEO Subash Menon acknowledged "tough head winds in Europe" and a struggling telecom sector. The company reported a net loss (before exceptional items and taxes) of $730,000 (U.S.). That compares to a profit of $2.74 million in the same period last year.
