Comverse has appointed Jacques-Herve Maupin to fill the position of senior vice president, managing director of the company's Asia Pacific region.

Maupin will have responsibilities in driving Converse's business and operation activities in the Asia Pacific regions, the company said, while Dr. Weiming Li will continue his role as regional vice president to focus on key regional customers.

"Jacques-Herve has a strong track record of driving growth in the Asia Pacific market, and his industry relationships and deep understanding of the telecom arena should open many new doors for CNS in this dynamic market ..." said president and CEO Philippe Tartavull.

Maupin has filled several positions serving the telecommunications industry in Asia Pacific, including six years as regional managing director at Oburthur Technologies.

He also has held positions over a 14-year period at Capgemini, culminating as sales director for the Asia telecom sector. From 2009 to 2011, Maupin served as managing director for the Asia Pacific region at Hypercom Inc., and since November 2011, he was in the same position at Ingenico.
