RCN Telecom Services has signed a long-term contract for NetCracker Technology's Business Support Systems solutions and added NetCracker’s next-generation converged rating and billing solution to improve customer experience, reduce operational costs and bring advanced new services to market.
“NetCracker is a proven partner we rely on for our BSS," said Robert Roeder, executive vice president and chief development officer for RCN Telecom Services, LLC. “Leveraging its new converged revenue-management solution, we plan to bring a variety of on-demand and personalized offerings to our customers in both commercial and residential markets while also enhancing the configurability, scalability and usability of our core BSS capabilities."
NetCracker is the primary BSS solution provider for RCN, covering end-to-end customer and service management. With this extension and expansion of its relationship, RCN will utilize a wide range of NetCracker’s BSS capabilities including rating and billing, the company said. It will enable a variety of converged business models that can create personalized offerings, deliver flexible billing and accelerate speed to market for new offerings.
