Telcordia, Unified Communications Supply Number Portability to Malaysia

Telcordia and Unified Communications will bring their number portability platform to Malaysia.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced in March that a consortium comprising Talian Gerak Alih Sdn Bhd, Unified Communications Sdn Bhd, and Telcordia was selected to build, operate and manage the Mobile Number Portability Clearinghouse in the country. The solution, which will be implemented in the first half of 2008, enables carriers to comply with the country’s timeline for the implementation of mobile number portability.

At the core of the comprehensive solution is the market leading Telcordia Number Portability Clearinghouse. Telcordia has number portability deployments in nine countries, processing transactions for more than 180 service providers who serve fixed and mobile subscribers.
