Oracle Builds Unified Inventory Management With SID

11/07/2007

Oracle Communications launched its Unified Inventory Management, which has been natively built and architected with TeleManagement Forum’s Shared Information/Data Model (SID). The product is designed to provide a transition from multiple inventory management systems to a single one that can manage physical (e.g., switches, routers, fibers, racks, etc.) and logical (e.g., phone numbers, IP addresses, etc.) resources across various services.

Through its modular design, Oracle claims service providers can manage network engineering, service fulfillment and financial management to foster data accuracy across disparate systems and to lay the groundwork for service oriented architecture (SOA).
