Amdocs To Demonstrate Seamless OSS/BSS For IMS

11/07/2007

Amdocs will demonstrate an IMS Service lifecycle on proposed OSS/BSS architecture today, as it promotes IMS as a driver for next-gen converged services at TeleManagement World in Dallas. The demonstration will highlight Amdoc’s convergent IMS charging solution, which has been developed as part of TM Forum’s Seamless OSS/BSS for IMS Services Catalyst Project.

Amdocs uses the NGOSS framework in managing the provisioning of IMS services, as well as other IMS-related standards, such as SuM in TISPAN and MTOSI common interface framework.

There will be a demo of Video Telephony (VT) services (or IMS related services) via multiple access equipment, as well as a demo of charging policy applied to future IMS features. The policy will be designed on demand.

The demos come on the heels of announcements that its customers, China Unicom and Chunghwa Telecom, plan to use IMS to clarify the definition between the OSS and IMS cores, as well as to integrate IMS interfaces from various vendors and current OSS/BSS providers.

Additionally, Amdocs will jointly demonstrate with HP an IMS interoperability reference model to demonstrate a new level of charging and billing flexibility.
