Agilent Opens the Throttle on Drive Testing

Agilent Technologies announced full drive test capabilities for its E6474A network optimization platform that include two new options for handheld wireless measurements.

The new handheld solutions allow wireless service providers to make unobtrusive measurements in the most sensitive locations as they troubleshoot complex networks with new software running on a compact handheld Ultra Mobile PC. It has complete compatibility with Agilent's full laptop-based drive test solutions. Its drive test projects and data files integrate seamlessly with the laptop version of the E6474A drive test tool.

In addition to providing RF engineering teams with a compact lightweight solution with the flexibility of a full drive test system, the Agilent E6474A UMPC handheld solutions include: the ability to discreetly and simply collect drive test data both indoors and outdoors; multi-technology measurements with the ability to have both HSPA/UMTA and 1xEVDO REV A/cdma2000 software on the same unit; and full drive test system compatibility with flexible measurement collection and user definable GUI.

The E6474A Agilent Drive Test Platform provides true cross-technology scalability and allows early verification of network deployments for 2G, 2.5G and 3G wireless networks.
