Aspen Optics Configures Fiber Networks

07/29/2008

Do you need to know how to connect a switch with Gigabit Interface Converter ports to a switch with small form-factor pluggable ports separated by 10km? Do you require knowledge about how to connect your fiber network with CAT 5 copper lines or how to connect switches in a multiple vendor environment? Aspen Optics can help.

The company launched a configuration tool for system integrators and Internet Service Providers this week that gives instantaneous recommendations on connecting fiber networks.

The tool, known as the Aspen Optical Ethernet Configurator, has a configuration engine that recommends the best options for fiber connectivity based on customer input about switching systems and circuit lengths. It gives full consideration to the specifications of the chosen hardware, to compatibility, interoperability and transmission mode. It works in a multi-vendor environment.

Aspen Optics is a supplier of fiber connectivity products to system integrators in the U.S., Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
