Nextel Mexico will deploy Intec’s interconnect billing and settlements solution, the companies announced. Nextel Mexico provides fully integrated mobile communication services. The company plans to roll out the Intec system to support its market expansion, growth and profitability in the increasingly competitive Latin American market. Established in 1998, Nextel Mexico offers a broad range of voice and data services. As part of NII Holdings, the operating group considers itself a leader in customer retention, with a churn rate of less than 2 percent in the second quarter of 2008. This is the lowest churn rate in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile. “To effectively expand into the domestic wholesale market, we needed a robust solution to support our growth while efficiently managing complexities in the marketplace. Intec provides us with a complete solution that is unique in its depth of functionality, from collection, rating, and management, to a dashboard of managerial reports,” commented Maria Eugenia Ayala Porras, Vice President of Revenue Assurance for Nextel Mexico. Intec’s Interconnect v7.1 addresses the functionality and performance requirements of a fast-moving telecommunications market by handling traditional and next-generation products and services in a single system, with proven ability to scale to handle the traffic levels of the biggest carriers. Interconnect v7.1 also fully supports interpartner settlement for IP-based services offered over next generation networks. This includes multiparty settlement with third party providers for services such as VoIP, content downloads and multimedia messaging. Intec Telecom Systems is a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS).
