Oracle Corp.’s WebCenter Suite has earned the database technology and applications company a position in the Leader’s Quadrant of Gartner Research’s “Magic Quadrant for Horizontal Portal Products.” Gartner’s Magic Quadrants position vendors within a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute on that vision. Oracle WebCenter Suite integrates technology from Oracle Fusion Middleware and BEA Systems to enable organizations to securely provide extranet and intranet portals along with composite applications that integrate processes, content, business intelligence, and enterprise application information in a single user interface. It also enables delivery of a broad range of Enterprise 2.0 services, such as wikis, blogs, discussion forums, secure search and RSS feeds through these portals and communities. According to Gartner, Oracle and other vendors in the Leaders quadrant “have a full range of capabilities to support a range of deployment scenarios and have demonstrated consistent product delivery in meeting customer needs for a substantial period of time. Leaders have delivered significant product innovation and have been successful in selling to new customers across industries." "We believe our position in the Leaders quadrant is a reflection of the value Oracle provides to customers with its complete, open and integrated portal and user interaction software," said Vince Casarez, vice president, Product Management, Oracle. "Leveraging open standards and a service-oriented architecture, as well as integrating enterprise applications and business processes with Enterprise 2.0 technology, Oracle WebCenter Suite helps organizations improve business performance by transforming how users work individually and in groups within enterprises and across organizations."
