QUNINTESSENT AND SUN TEAM

02/01/1999
Quintessent Communications Inc., a provider of OSS interconnection software and services, will enter a joint marketing and sales arrangement with Sun Microsystems Inc. designed to fulfill customer demand for OSS interconnection deployments on the Sun Solaris operating environment in the telecommunications market. Quintessent will leverage Sun’s SPARC/Solaris-based network computing technology to help broadly deliver Quintessent’s QConnect OSS interconnection product to emerging and incumbent service providers worldwide. As part of the alliance, Quintessent and Sun will develop joint sales and marketing campaigns. QConnect is designed to automatically translate data to efficiently process and deliver the set of required business data. It enables trading partners to competitively exchange services such as Access Service Request orders, Local Service Request orders, 800 SMS, LIDB/NAM, PIC/CARE and trouble administration. The system maps carrier data exchanges to a common, reusable CORBA structure.
