SAVILLE AND METASOLV TO INTEGRATE, MARKET SYSTEMS

04/01/1999
Saville Systems and MetaSolv Software will integrate their Convergent Billing Platform (CBP) and Telecom Business Solution (TBS) software products and jointly market them, the companies announced in February. TBS and CBP, which run under both Oracle and DB2/400, will be designed to use published application programming interfaces (APIs). The APIs, to be released this year, pass customer care, order management, inventory management workflow management and billing information between applications. The combined systems will be aimed at CLECs and ILECs that are trying to integrate and automate business processes. TBS is designed to combine customer information with ordering, trouble ticket management, inventory management, circuit design and workflow management. CBP, a single software platform, is designed to integrate customer care, event processing, billing and post-billing activities, and support billing for local, long-distance, cellular, satellite, paging, Internet, cable, multimedia and data services. CBP is an object-oriented client/server system that uses Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 95 and Oracle database server technology, a Saville spokesman said.
