Sunrise Telecom has announced the next generation of its CM2000 cable modem network analyzer with simple network management protocol (SNMP) and Telnet testing, integrated file transfer protocol (FTP) and new options for a CAD viewer and signature capture. The new tools, combined with an Internet Explorer Web browser previously only available on an adjunct laptop, make Sunrise Telecom’s CM2000 the only cable modem network analyzer to deliver the flexibility, tools and performance that field personnel need to fully install, service and verify complex triple play networks, according to the company. New features like SNMP and Telnet save time and money by allowing technicians to query network devices and make configuration changes directly from the field. The FTP client lets files be moved between the CM2000 and a central server without a computer, simplifying and speeding the sharing of information. The new WiFi adapter option extends the usefulness of the CM2000 allowing access to management and back office systems anywhere, anytime and provides a tool for troubleshooting in-home wireless networks. Created to meet the challenges faced by cable operators delivering advanced triple play services, the CM2000 combines customizable verification and troubleshooting capabilities with pre-defined automated test suites and the industry’s first full VGA color touch screen. These features enable operators to speed installations and reduce repair time, while significantly increasing quality of service (QoS). In addition, the familiarity of the operating system and the Internet Explorer browser make it very easy for all technicians to learn and use, says Sunrise.
