Sunrise Telecom Intros New Testing Product

05/27/2009

Sunrise Telecom has introduced the UDSL-3Play module for its Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) Platform. When combined with the MTT Advanced Cable Maintenance (ACM II) chassis, the new UDSL-3Play module completes the ultimate tool for DSL-based triple play services, enabling telecom service providers to thoroughly verify the copper infrastructure and triple-play IP services delivered over a Universal DSL access network.

Sunrise says the UDSL-3Play module provides efficient yet comprehensive testing capabilities for ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, and VDSL2 based access networks. Key features include both customer premises and central office DSL modem emulation and IP data connectivity and throughput tests to determine Internet access and overall Quality of Experience (QoE).

In addition, the test module can measure QoE for IP video by emulating a set top box and for VoIP by emulating an IP Phone. Features like the single button DSL test, which automatically presents a summary screen of key metrics, reduce the time spent on initial training and accelerates triple play installation, according to the company.
