Subex Azure Wins Contract with Melita Cable

Subex Azure announced it is deploying its Fraud Management bureau for Melita Cable, Malta’s primary cable television and Internet service provider. The bureau uses rules-based alarms and fingerprint pattern matching to identify likely fraudulent usage, enabling operators to detect known fraud types and patterns of unusual behavior. Melita provides services to more than 100,000 subscribers.

Oracle Version 6.2 Order and Service Management Product

Oracle announced the availability of Oracle Communications Order and Service Management (Oracle Communications OSM) release 6.2, which extends Oracle’s Siebel CRM capabilities with order management functionality to automate fulfillment requests for traditional and next-generation services using one convergent platform.

The new version includes standards-based Web services integration enabling automated end-to-end business processes; order transformation, decomposition, coordination and execution of convergent communications orders; Intelligent Change Management to inherently analyze the net effect of order changes resulting from supplemental, cancellation or exception processing to automatically execute the appropriate compensation steps; and application integration using Web GUI integration that allows users to select, reserve and update information in external systems, which then dynamically determine order processing.

Motorola to Acquire Leapstone Systems

Motorola has agreed to acquire privately held Leapstone Systems. Leapstone provides a service delivery platform for creating, managing and delivering converged video, voice and data service bundles across multiple networks and devices. Leapstone customers include AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Pending approval, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2007. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Synchronoss Selected by Clearwire

Synchronoss Technologies announced that Clearwire has deployed its software platform to manage all activation and provisioning for its Internet Phone Service. The provisioning platform addresses recent network and architecture upgrades including IMS, and enables an environment with a single point of access to numerous agnostic communications and entertainment services.

JacobsRimell and Wipro Partner

JacobsRimell (JR) and systems integrator Wipro Technologies recently announced they will partner. Wipro will offer systems integration services and resell JR’s Automated Provisioning System service fulfillment solutions as part of its cable practice. JR will further expand its marketing reach by leveraging Wipro’s global presence.

cVidya Networks Launches KPIMap

cVidya Networks recently launched its KPIMap, a monitoring and operational tool for revenue assurance operations. The product offers prepackaged best practice key performance indicators (KPIs) that monitor strategic, tactical and operational levels. By analyzing this information, KPIMap also contributes to a better understanding and smoother management of operational and business-level objectives, setting medium and long-term revenue assurance goals for the organization. The product is currently deployed with a major European carrier.

Tribold Supports Convergys’ Infinys Series 3 Solution

Tribold announced that its Product Portfolio Manager software is providing the enterprise product catalog functionality for Convergys Corp.’s newly launched Infinys Series 3 BSS. Infinys Series 3 features enhanced rating, charging, billing and active mediation capabilities to support new and innovatively packaged content delivery. The enterprise-wide product catalog will extend offer management capabilities and provide a seamless customer experience via all order and care channels.

Great Lakes Comnet Selects Equinox

Great Lakes Comnet, a Michigan-based broadband network and switching infrastructure telecom, has licensed a suite of mediation and usage record administration applications from Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems. The applications will provide real-time delivery of usage records, monitor network performance and activity, and convert usage data records to the appropriate data formats for downstream OSSs.

Communications Data Group Announces New Ownership

Communications Data Group Inc. (CDG) announced it has been acquired by Bob LaBonté and Bill Oglesby from its parent company Hargray Communications Group. LaBonté and Oglesby are the former COO and CFO of the Hargray companies and have been actively involved with CDG for many years. They will act as CDG’s CEO and CFO, respectively.

“While CDG has thrived since its purchase by Hargray in 1990, billing was a secondary business to its former owners,” says new owner Bill Oglesby. “We are a billing company and will focus on improving our current products, as well as exploring other revenue sources. Customer support as it has been in the past will be a major focus.” The company’s headquarters will remain in Champaign, Ill.
