Golden Telecom Selects BSG Clearing Solutions

BSG Clearing Solutions announced a new multi-year agreement with Golden Telecom of Ukraine to deliver international roaming financial clearing services. BSG will manage financial clearing and settlements for Golden Telecom’s more than 160 international roaming partners covering 90 countries, including determining operators’ net cash positions and transacting foreign exchanges across various currencies. Golden Telecom will utilize BSG’s reporting tools as well as its pro-active debt management solution as well.






PAETEC Selects Oracle

Oracle has announced that PAETEC, which focuses on medium and large business and institutional customers, has signed an agreement that leverages Oracle’s end-to-end IT and communications applications solution portfolio and includes new licenses for the Oracle® E-Business Suite; Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment; Oracle Web Center Suite; Oracle SOA Suite; Oracle Identity Management; components of Oracle Fusion Middleware; and Oracle Database. PAETEC will use its Oracle products to consolidate operations and systems following its recent merger with US LEC. The Oracle E-Business Suite will provide a single, consolidated view of the customer; enable the automation of complex service requests; and deliver an enterprise platform for finance and human capital management. Likewise, PAETEC has extended licenses for the Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment portfolio’s inventory management and service activation applications to launch next-generation services.

Telcordia and Neoris Partner for Mexican Number Portability

Telcordia announced a new partnership with Neoris, a business and IT consulting company, to pursue bringing Telcordia’s Number Portability Clearinghouse solution to Mexico. Neoris is the largest IT consultant and systems integrator in Mexico. Cofetel, the Mexican telecommunications regulatory commission, recently passed a number portability mandate that makes the service a requirement for Mexican service providers in the first quarter of 2008. Telcordia already providers number portability solutions in nine countries including the United States, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Lithuania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and South Africa. Its number portability solution automates ordering, provisioning, notification and administration. It allows service providers to rely on the same set of rules for handling port requests, so number exchanges can occur quickly and accurately.

Shenandoah Selects CommSoft to Support Converged Telecom Offerings

CommSoft announced that Shenandoah Telecommunication Company (Shentel) has selected the CommSoft suite of solutions including CommVergence OSS/BSS; CABS; CommNextion EBPP and E-care; CommForce Mobile Workforce Management; CommView Dashboards and Customer Metrics; and VTC Service and Process Activation. "The automation of our business processes with workflow and new functionality to reduce day-to-day costs plus the ability to accelerate our customer growth while providing outstanding customer service is important to us," says Earle MacKenzie the EVP/COO of Shentel. "We need a system that will allow for rapid changes, be easy to use, and can handle all of our service offerings…" Shentel is a100 year old regional service provider that offers a variety of telecom services within and outside of its traditional local telephone service area. It is a Sprint PCS Affiliate of Sprint Nextel, and offers cable, data, tower leasing and alarm monitoring as well as traditional local and long distance voice services.

Intelliden Launches Network Compliance Management Application

Intelliden announced the release of its new Policy Based Compliance Management application that is designed to meet the compliance needs of 'network-driven' organizations with demanding network availability, reliability, integrity and security requirements. The application uses automated compliance, intelligent remediation, and support for an unlimited number of policies. Based on the patented Intelliden R-Series® platform, the new Policy Based Compliance Management application aims to lower the cost of network compliance and audits, accelerates discovery and resolution of configuration-related vulnerabilities, and ensures network availability and business continuity. TELUS will be one of the first communications service providers to deploy Intelliden Policy Based Compliance Management to automatically detect and correct out-of-compliance network conditions, giving it a new level of control and predictability in its networks.

Subex Azure Wins Fraud Management Contract with Melita Cable

Subex Azure announced it is deploying its Fraud Management bureau for Melita Cable, Malta's primary cable television and internet service provider. Melita is the first 'triple-play' (internet, TV and telephony) operator in Malta, providing services to more than 100,000 subscribers. Melita chose Subex Azure based on its successful Fraud Management bureau implementation at UPC (United Pan-European Communications). The Subex Azure Fraud Management bureau uses rules-based alarms and fingerprint pattern matching to identify likely fraudulent usage, enabling operators to detect known fraud types and patterns of unusual behavior in all telecoms environments ­ wireline (PSTN, ISP, VOIP), wireless (2G, 2.5G, 3G) and across all services (postpaid, prepaid, VAS, MMS, m-commerce).

Oracle Introduces Oracle Communications Order and Service Management

Oracle announced the general availability of Oracle Communications Order and Service Management (Oracle Communications OSM) Release 6.2, which extends Oracle’s Siebel CRM capabilities with comprehensive order management functionality to automate fulfillment requests for traditional and next-generation services. Complementing existing Siebel CRM order capture and processing functionality, Oracle Communications Order and Service Management (previously Oracle Communications Provisioning) is a next-generation solution that helps communications service providers streamline and automate their complex order management processes. Oracle Communications OSM enables service providers to introduce new, emerging services rapidly as well as cost effectively scale the delivery of mass-market services through fully automated order management ­ all on one convergent platform for current and next-generation services and technologies.

Intec Delivers IMS Offline and Online Charging Solution

Intec announced that its new Intec IMS Charging Solution is available. The solution, which has undergone extensive interoperability testing with network equipment manufacturers, is currently being deployed in proof of concept trials by a number of operators. The Intec IMS Charging Solution, which offers both offline and online charging capabilities, is fully compliant with relevant 3GPP specifications, ensuring best practice in the creation of IMS charging functions for next generation IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) enabled services. “Carriers tell us that they are looking for IMS charging capabilities that can easily integrate with their existing BSS/OSS infrastructure and can automate processes at every stage of the service delivery cycle, from service activation through to charging and billing,” says Gary Bunney, chief operating officer for Intec.

The Intec IMS Charging Solution incorporates both Offline Charging and Online Charging functions as defined by the IMS specification. The Intec Charging Collection Function (Intec CCF) delivers a comprehensive offline charging capability and supports all aspects of IMS service correlation and session/event charging. For Online Charging the Intec Online Charging Solution (Intec OCS) is fully compliant with the relevant IMS specifications relating to real-time authorization of requests for services as well as full provision of rating (RF) and account balance management (ABMF) functionality. The Intec IMS Charging Solution is designed to support the key principles associated with the introduction of IMS, including access independence; unified account management; and cross-transport mobility at both the terminal (roaming) and user (IMS & SIP) level.
