Active vs. Passive Monitoring: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know (But Were Afraid to Ask!)

Available: On Demand
Speakers: Tom Kurata, Senior Product Specialist, EXFO Service Assurance

As networks continue to converge to IP-based systems, the need to monitor both wired and wireless network performance is crucial. Operators need to monitor various services and prove their service-level agreements (SLAs). With this in mind, what is the best monitoring method? Should providers focus on passive monitoring of customer traffic or on monitoring introduced traffic (active testing)?

During this Webinar, Tom Kurata, senior product specialist at EXFO Service Assurance, will explore the pros and cons of both methodologies.

Join us on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, to learn everything you ever wanted to know about:
   •  Why monitoring is crucial to an operator’s bottom line
   •  How network topology can influence monitoring methods
   •  The differing requirements of troubleshooting vs. root-cause analysis
   •  The economic impacts of service-level monitoring (both positive and negative)
